“All Europeans airports will envy the new T-1 terminal of El Prat Barcelona Airport for its design, its efficiency and for the quality of the materials used in its construction”, said today the president of Star Alliance, Jaan Albrecht.

In his opinion, the new Barcelona terminal exceeds in many aspects the T-4 of Madrid Barajas airport, which is very beautiful, but less practical and efficient than Barcelona T1.  The new terminal  has the structure of an exceptional hub, only comparable to the newest airports in Asia.

The sword-shaped T-1-designed by Ricardo Bofill has a total area of 525,000 square meters, equivalent to 850 football fields. With a passenger capacity of 55 million per year the new terminal will allow to handle 90 operations per hour.
